Bio:
Prof. Dr. Alena Hašková is a professor of Technology of Education. She works at the Faculty of Education, Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra (Slovakia). Her primary interests are methodology of teaching, IT applications in education, development of educational environments and their use for specific purposes, and optimization of school management. She acts as an expert in several national as well as international committees aimed at research in education. She regularly contributes with articles to the national and international journals dedicated to the topic of education. She is an author of several monographs and textbooks in the area of pedagogy.

Mgr. Monika Valentová, PhD works as a senior lecturer at Faculty of Education, Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra (Slovakia). Her primary
professional and research interest is the field of didactics – development of technology thinking and motor skills of young learners in education process. She is involved in teacher training, will-be teachers of pre-primary, primary and lower secondary education (ISCED 0 – ISCED 2) with focus on the given field.
Content:
One of the school subjects, through which technical education is carried out at basic schools (primary schools and lower level of secondary schools) in Slovakia, is the subject called Technology. Among others, the subject curricula include also the topic Plastics. According to the State Educational Program it is important pupils to become familiar with basic division of plastics, possibilities of their use in practice, ways of their hand tooling, technologies of their production, treatment and recycling. he workshop will be devoted to creative activities focused on the use of plastics, by means of which it is possible to demonstrate and observe plastics properties in school conditions.
